The Mask

As a part of a writing small group we were asked to write about masks in light of our current pandemic and the fear that has followed.  And I thought, what are you covering up? Is it a bad lip job, a frown, a smile that went south? Whatever it is the mask won't help disguise it. My child, my child, don't you know your eyes speak volumes and tell the story of your thoughts and feelings.

It's amazing how bank robbers always wore masks and people who were about to commit some ghastly crime did the same. However we are now being forced to wear masks for our own protection as well as for others. And no matter what color or style your mask is, you still are recognizable to many. You can't hide my friend so you may as well get a name tag and let the world know who you are...just kidding!

Waiting for Friday...

Friday

This is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it. My tribute to Friday and all that it brings knowing God sent this day to make me glad! Thank you Lord for sweet Friday, my day!
Even working from home and at home, you still deserve a break and Friday brings it to me every time so plans need to be made to make it all it can be for a successful weekend.

This has been a great week and a stressful one with personal trials that I wish were not trials at all but that's life and we deal with it. People need to learn how to get along with others better especially the ones they say they love. Agree to disagree may sound cliche' but no truer words have been spoken. Allowing each person to voice their opinions and views is what God gave us as a right and a part of what makes us unique and independent thinkers. When we start following anything other than God we hit lots of bumps in the road which can cause bruises. Who wants unnecessary bruises?

We don't have to agree with each other to love each other. Love can get uncomfortable and sometimes unnatural, but it's what we're called to do as followers of Jesus. Even people we don't agree with, especially those we don't agree with. It is possible.

Until next time...

Friday

The clock is ticking and I'm doing my best to get the rest I need to make this Friday visit the very best one ever.  Hang with me Friday, we're going to paint the town red, and maybe a few more colors simply because it will have to come from our imagination...I still feel sequestered and pasted to my humble abode with no plans of escape.  Imagination take us away. The weather is not even cooperating with an outside venture so it's indoors and a good book for this girl. Grin and bare it! I can do all things fun as long as Friday is right by my side and not anxious to run into Saturday before its time.

Slow and easy can make for a really good weekend. So no matter what others are doing, I'm blocking all negative and non productive news and reports out for this sweet day so that we never forget how absolutely fabulous the time we spent together actually was. Friday, you have me baby! Until next time...

Friday

Still the unrest continues and there are people who have no peace. God promises us peace even in the midst of confusion but we have to be connected to the vine to experience this. As I've stated before how much I respect and believe in protest, I can not get on board with rioting, looting, and killing to make a point. The point will always be absorbed in the conflict and never settled.

Well well well, we continue to pray and move on because Friday is upon us and I'm determined to enjoy my day that leads to my weekend and I count it all joy. I will stand for what's good and right in this world and make my Friday the best one ever, so come on Friday and do your thing with me. I'm waiting...

Friday

As much as I love you my dear Friday, your visits are coming way too fast and not because I don't appreciate them, it's that you leave before I'm ready for you to go. I'd like to hold on to you longer and slow the weekend down for more pleasure.
Anyhow, there's been a lot of crazy activity going on lately that is difficult to understand. Is everyone going nuts? What happened to sensitivity, love, caring about your fellow man? It may sound a bit cliche' but why can't we just get along?
I'm sure God is frowning at his creations who He made equally, fighting and thinking one is better than the other. I pray this awakening has some positive effects and white people realize that the black person they thought they knew so well has suffered bias and prejudice that they never spoke about. Hurrah for the long needed conversation. I absolutely abhor violence but the conversation and change is long overdue.
Thanks to President Trump for making Juneteenth a household word. Let's be honest black people, many of us never heard or celebrated it until his rally was scheduled on that date. We as a people are also learning some black history and that is a good thing.
May we never forget to give God the glory for giving us life and love and respect for everybody as well as their opinions. Love each other in spite of their differing views. Freedom was fought for and died for so let us experience that freedom by allowing those differences.
Until later...

Friday

We meet again dear Friday and you're a pleasant part of my very busy week. It seems busier than it was simply because of the events that put such a mental strain on my brain thinking of how someone could treat another human being like an animal...no, not an animal, an animal would've been treated a whole lot better. Condolences to the Floyd family!

It is now time to put a stop to the protest and allow some of the unrest to cease. At this point it doesn't matter whether it's peaceful or not because evil has latched itself onto the cause and making the devoted peaceful protesters look bad. Cops are being killed and injured who have nothing to do with the death of George Floyd, people are being hurt, businesses being burned and robbed. This has to STOP! I pray every person who calls on the name of Jesus will pray for this situation and not believe this is OK, it's not ok. Ungodly behavior brings ungodly results.

It's time to have some Friday magic...put a happy spell on me Friday!
Until next time...

FRIDAY

This week has been quite a mind full! All the hate and criticisms on every side. Can't we Christians at least be on the same page, and that would be Jesus Christ and our love for mankind? Time is short and we don't have a lot of time for getting on board with the ranting and raving with the name game and the blame game, that's not our thing. I'm tempted to do the same when my flesh tries to outweigh my spirit, but what will it profit me in the long run? Only a momentary burst that fades away until reality hits and you've said things you regret or started a feud with people you love, defending or hating someone you don't even know.
Know that we are children of the most high, not Democrats or Republicans. Don't label yourselves by how you feel led to vote. But always allow others the freedom to have a choice in every area of life just as Christ offered you a choice of life or death, good over evil.
Remember child of God, we fight best on our knees!
Until next time...

Again I am totally agitated and hurt that a person could Have so much hatred towards black people that she could fabricate this lie about being intimidated by a black man knowing the result could be fatal to him. Using a phone call to the police department to fuel this situation shows that we have made white people feel that all they need to do is tell the cops and that will bring a black man to his knees simply because it is happening way too often. It seems white people dont need a gun or knife, just a phone call to the police so they can watch the takedown without any blood on their hands.
When this happened in Central Park where so many blacks and other people of color sometime think that racism is just in the South, it reminds us that it is alive and well everywhere.
The apology from this woman was so contrived, it's ridiculous because she knew just what she was doing and the response she intended to get but Mr Cooper was so nice and gentlemanly, he videotaped her approaching him and lying out loud and in color. It hurts to think this could've been another racist attack by the police if they had listened to this white woman.

Racism

My heart is saddened this morning yet again. I stayed away from the news except for COVID19 news which comes at you at every angle even when avoiding regular news. However, I had not seen or knew about Mr Floyd who was killed by policemen with nothing better to do than take out their frustrations on a black man who begged to be let up because he couldn't breathe. How much force does it take for several police to arrest or detain a criminal. I watched some footage just a minute ago and Mr Floyd was not doing anything to warrant this unkind and brutal treatment.
What's happening America? Don't we have enough going on that we don't need to carry out torture on another individual? We're fighting a pandemic yet our black brothers are not only getting killed in jail but on the so called safe streets of freedom. This has gone too far and the average black male is not feeling safe which makes him a little more defensive wondering if he's about to be beat or killed.
This has to STOP! Our men are important to us as black women so we must pray for them as well as ourselves, this affects us all.

Friday

Today I woke up so grateful to be present and healthy in this world while there are those who are suffering from the virus as well as other illnesses whether mental or physical. In this crazy mixed up world I know I'm truly blessed and knowing it means we should count them one by one and give our creator honor and thanks for making it happen.
I must admit the reason for posting a little late is that I was very sleepy, got up with my daughter a few times during the early morning hours and it was difficult to fall back asleep each time. But it's Friday and time for Friday fun so take off that doom and gloom and get it moving. Lots to do today!
Let's shake off that COVID15 lbs and eat less of that Memorial Day weekend food. It's tempting to go all out crazy after being cooped up but we are planning to not go overboard. So go have fun, swim, ride a bike, or take a walk, it's up to you. It is GREAT to have choices.
Until next time...

Friday

And we meet again! I remember when I was working, I used to look forward to seeing you because it marked the end of a tough work week but now you come so quickly I can barely prepare for your arrival. It seems you were here just a few days ago, not that I don't love your company, it's really moving a little too fast for me because as fast as you come, you go just as fast. Please stay a little while longer and relax with me.
The COVID 19 is trying to limit so much in our lives but we don't have to allow it even though it has brought change, it doesn't have to change us. Keep your eyes on the prize. Until next time...

Friday"""

A part of me wants to say "finally Friday" and another part of me wants to say "not yet Friday".  Feeling a little conflicted about time going by so fast and not enough accomplished and a flash of TGIF marking the end of a week, making way for the weekend which this one commemorates Mother's Day.
I'd like to give a shout out to all good moms, not just those who gave birth but those who really care and have done the hard work because it is indeed hard work if it's done right. For me it's not just another day but a special time to reach out and love those women in your life who've been great mothers, not just your mother but mothers you admire for jobs well done. Right now with this COVID19 plague affecting our lives, we might not be able to give them a hug or kiss but certainly a card, a call, a text to make that woman know you care about all the sacrifices of time and talent she has put into the lives of those she loves. Make this Mother's Day even more special because it is different and a part of our "NEW NORMAL".
Love is still the answer!
Until next time...

FRIDAY

I know I say this quite frequently, but it's Friday already! Not ready yet, this time I can truthfully say I'm not ready for my dear friend to visit yet. I had so much more I wanted to accomplish before the end of the week and I fell short. Maybe because there were things in my personal life that pulled so hard it changed my energy or maybe it's just the effects of this sequestered atmosphere we're in. Whatever the reason, I fell short of my goal, I'm refusing to let it damage my weekend , instead I'm focusing on the week ahead and the joy it brings to dream of the future.
The best is yet to come!
So Friday, come on and let's make this the most exciting "be at home" day ever.
Until next time...

Friday

OK Let's have some fun and drop the serious veneer. Put on a fun suit and a fun hat and make Friday what it ought to be. I want to kick Corona out and replace it with everything light. Why? Because we need it. There are people out there getting depressed and stressed even though they have NO answer to ridding us of this demon. They need to rely on the source of all that's good...JESUS!
So let's let go, let God and take a load off. Scream, laugh, dance, play some games, read some books, catch up on cleaning that junky closet and give away some of those barely worn clothes.
Please let me know what you did to make Friday fun again! Looking forward to hearing from all of you who read this blog. I choose Life, do you?
Until later...

Friday

I want to start this day with love and prayer for our nation and all of its inhabitants. We're going through a really difficult and different season, one like never before in our time. This has changed the way I look at life and going out of my door. Masks and gloves all around me when I loved hugs and the human touch so much, will it ever be the same?
Someone asked have we prayed as much as we've talked about our dilemma? Oops! Probably not, right? Let's start today. Let's practice patience and peace for God has given us this day and the grace for it!
Until next time...

Good Friday

This is Good Friday, not just any Friday, but Good Friday! The world thinks we as Christians because of this pandemic won't be able to celebrate Easter or Jesus as our risen savior but they are soooo mistaken. God has blessed us with technology that brings us together even when we are apart. The people in 1918 with the Spanish flu pandemic had no technology to help them cruise through that horrible event, yet it ended and though it was devastating and took millions of lives. This too shall pass.
We are excited and mindful of what Christ sacrificed for us to make sure we have life. This can not be taken for granted whether the climate is good or bad, we still have a savior, Jesus Christ
Let's rejoice!!!

Friday

YES yes yes, we're here on this blessed Friday and doing well despite the terrible Chinese virus or whatever name you'd like to call it. It's straight from hell itself. We as children of God put this whole thing under our feet and call it cursed and removed from our midst.
Not much to say today except keep your heads up and be blessed for God saw this day! He's got it.
Until later...

Friday

OK dear readers, I neglected to post earlier so Thursday rapidly turned into Friday before my very eyes. Now that my day is here I am excited and ready for great things. It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood despite the virus and any other calamity unleashed upon us. It will not come nigh me or mine.
I'm so happy to be in the family of God and have His divine protection over me and not be placed in an area of fear but by faith peace reigns.
Until next time...

Friday

It's here and so am I. I'm still living and still thriving no matter what the enemy tries to put in my way! In spite of all the bad news and predictions, we can hold on to Jesus and know who's in control and not allow fear and all the voices coming at us with negative words of doom and gloom to overcome us.
Yes, there are circumstances surrounding us but we have a savior who says He will never leave us or forsake us so this beautiful Friday morning, I choose to believe I and my loved ones are totally protected and healed. When the crazy stuff comes at us, let's remember what God says.
Until next time...

Friday Eve

Its Thursday after New Years Day and we are all well and happy and ready to break this new year in ...in grand style. So fortunate are we to greet the new year in great spirits and good health! Knowing that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, we go into it flexing our muscles.
Come on 2020 and come on Friday...
